The Silver Advantage is back for 2021 – Football – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets


THE APARTMENTS – For the third season in a row, Georgia Tech Football and Atlanta’s Children’s Healthcare are teaming up to raise funds for the fight against childhood cancer in 2021. This season, Georgia Tech fans are once again encouraged to commit to the fight against childhood cancer. basis of the success of the Yellow Jackets. on Money Down – a phrase coined by Head Coach Tech Geoff collins with reference to the third and fourth downs.

For the second year in a row, Collins has pledged to donate $ 10 to Children’s for every Money Down save made by the Yellow Jackets in defense this season. and every Money Down the Jackets convert to an offensive first down. In 10 games last season, Collins donated $ 1,620 to The Children’s based on the Jackets’ 93 Money Down saves in defense and 69 conversions in attack. Led by Collins’ personal donation, Georgia Tech fans raised a total of $ 10,404 through the ‘Money Down’ promotion in 2020.

In six games this season, Collins has already pledged $ 890, thanks to 56 defensive saves from Georgia Tech and 33 offensive conversions on Money Down.

Collins encourages Georgia Tech fans to join him in contributing to the cause again in 2021. Pledges and one-time donations of any amount can be made at 2021.

The “Money Down” benefit is the latest way Collins and Georgia Tech Football have sought to support Children’s. In 2019, Georgia Tech Football partnered with Children’s to raise awareness and fundraise for Cape Day, an annual event that honors the real superheroes in our community, the kids who struggle with disease and illness at Children’s. Also in 2019, Georgia Tech was the primary fundraiser for the 2019 Peach Bowl Touchdowns for Children campaign, which benefits the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children.

Georgia Tech (3-3, 2-2 ACC) gets a pass on Saturday before returning to action on Oct. 23 in Virginia. Prime-time kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally on ACC.
